Alumina Ceramics:
In amorphous refractories, the amount of refractory aggregate is generally 63% to 73%, which plays a role of a skeleton and can significantly affect its performance. The amount of refractory powder is 17% ~ 37%, which plays the role of filling aggregate pores and improving construction performance. Some refractory powders, such as clay and ultrafine powder, are also good binders. The ideal particle gradation is that the space caused by the coarse aggregate is exactly filled by the fine aggregate, and the space between the two is filled by the refractory powder. Get better performance.
Refractory aggregate is divided into coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. Generally, those with a particle size larger than 5mm are called coarse aggregates; those with 5mm and below 5mm to 0.09mm are called fine aggregates. It is customary to call 5 ~ 0.15mm particles as fine aggregate. The critical aggregate particle size depends on the thickness of the lining, as detailed in the table below. At present, the critical particle size of refractory aggregates tends to decrease. Generally, 8mm or 5mm is used, and 3mm is used for pumping. It should be pointed out that when formulating an amorphous refractories, the gradation of the refractory aggregate particles should meet the technical requirements in the composite table.
