Alumina Ceramics:
Alumina ceramics are used to make cobalt sky blue glaze: Alumina is a very important flux in cobalt azure glaze, which enables cobalt oxide to form a beautiful sky blue in the glaze.
Used as ceramic pigment: Due to its strong fluxing effect, zinc oxide can be used as a rib flux, mineralizer and glaze carrier for ceramic pigments.
Alumina should also pay attention to the following points during use: it must be calcined at a high temperature before use, and the calcination temperature is about 1200 °C. If it is directly added to the raw glaze without calcination, it will affect the process performance of the glaze. No calcination is required in the addition of the frit. Excessive use of zinc oxide in the glaze will affect the glaze gloss. Zinc oxide has a poor influence on some color glazes, especially chrome glaze.
Alumina can be used as a reinforcing agent, a promoter, and a vulcanizing agent in rubber articles. In the rubber vulcanization process, it reacts with the organic accelerator hard fat to produce zinc stearate, thereby enhancing the physical properties of the rubber during vulcanization and shortening the vulcanization time.
Alumina is the activator of the foaming agent, which can reduce the decomposition temperature of the foaming agent, and can adjust the consistency with the processing temperature of the rubber. Usually, the amount is between 0.2 and 2 phr, generally according to the rubber system and foaming. The dosage system is different and the amount added is different.
