Atmospheric pressure sintering (PLS) is used to increase the temperature of the sintered nitrogen atmosphere by using the Si3N4 decomposition temperature (usually decomposed at 1800 °C under N2 = 1 atm pressure), and is carried out at a temperature ranging from 1700 to 1800 °C. After atmospheric pressure sintering, the gas pressure sintering is carried out in the temperature range of 1800-2000 ° C. The purpose of the method is to promote the densification of Si3N4 ceramics by gas pressure, thereby improving the strength of the ceramic. The performance of the obtained product is slightly lower than that of hot-pressed sintering. The disadvantages of the method are similar to hot press sintering.
