The bulk density of Silicon Nitride Ceramics varies greatly depending on the process, generally more than 80% of the theoretical density, which is between 2200 and 3200 kg/m3. The porosity is the main reason for the difference in density. The porosity is generally about 20%, the density is 2200-2600 kg/m3, and the hot-pressed silicon nitride has a porosity of 5% or less and a density of 3000-3200 kg/m3. Compared with Other Materials with similar applications, not only the density It is lower than all high-temperature alloys and is also a lower density in high-temperature structural ceramics. Silicon nitride ceramics can be used as high-temperature insulating materials. The performance of the silicon nitride ceramics depends mainly on the synthesis method and purity. The free silicon that is not nitrided in the material, the alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, iron, titanium, etc. Magazines such as nickel can deteriorate the electrical properties of silicon nitride ceramics. Generally, the specific resistance of silicon nitride ceramics in the drying medium is 1015-1016 ohms at room temperature, and the dielectric constant is 9.4-9.5. At high temperatures, the silicon nitride ceramics still maintain a high specific resistance value. With the improvement of conditions, silicon nitride can enter the ranks of common dielectrics.
