Alumina Ceramics:
Alumina ceramics is an important raw material for ceramic chemical fluxes, especially in architectural ceramic wall and floor glazes and low-temperature porcelain materials. It is also widely used in art ceramic glazes.
Alumina has a strong fluxing effect in the glaze, which can reduce the expansion coefficient of the glaze, improve the thermal stability of the product, and at the same time increase the gloss and whiteness of the glaze and improve the elasticity of the glaze. It can increase the brilliance of the glaze while expanding the melting range. However, it should not be used in black glaze containing chromium.
Used as a flux: When the alumina is used as a solvent in a low-temperature frit glaze, it is generally used in an amount of 5% to 10%, and is usually used in a low-temperature raw glaze of about 5%.
Since zinc oxide can form zinc spinel with A1203, ZnO A1203 crystals, in zinc-containing opaque glaze, in zinc-containing opaque glaze. Among them, A1203 can improve the whiteness and opacity of the glaze. SIO2 can improve the gloss of the glaze.
Used as a crystallization agent: In the art glaze crystal, zinc oxide is an indispensable crystallization agent. When the glaze is rapidly cooled, it forms a large crystal pattern, which is very beautiful. In the crystal glaze, the amount of zinc oxide is as high as 20 - 30%.
